Microphone Fiend...

Last week was hella busy... I hit three mic's in 2 days AFTER spending countless hours in Chuck E Cheese celebrating my baby girl's 2nd birthday... 1. The Heavy Handed Slam on Saturday night was live and I am excited to try my hand at the upcoming Dada Slam in Delray... I came in 2nd place at the HH slam with a 29.8... (Not too bad) 2. The South Florida Natural Hair Expo was so live and I was glad to participate and share the poem I wrote about loving my kinky mane! I had no idea the movement was as strong as it is and I am proud to be in the number of Fabulous Natural Hair Divas. Big shout-out to Simone and the NTS family! 3. On Thursday I got a quick email from my Bro Brian Poem and he needed a feature for Sunday (yes 3 days’ notice). Even though it was short notice and my product is not ready for sale yet I was down for the cause to help my brotha out. By this time my singing voice was nonexistent and I sounded like a hurt crow but by the grace of the Most High I pushed through and gave it my all. Luckily I had a crowd that received my words and forgave my voice. On Deck: This week the beautiful and graceful Maryel Epps will be featured at the Bohemia Room and it promises to be one of the highlights of 2012. This QUEEN IS Phenomenal! I am looking forward to this event because the vibe will be strong and laid back at the same time, kinda sumthin like me. I plan on giving 1000% and leaving a piece of my soul on stage.
