Yo! C'mon Son! You buggin'! (in my grimy Brownsville accent)
I just had to say that NYC will always have a special place in my heart and I will always heart NYC. Performing at Nicholas Brooklyn off of Fulton was such a blessed experience! I know the crowd was kinda light but I show'd my ass any way! You never know whose soul could be impacted by your voice or your words so I feel like as an artist I would perform for 20 as if they were 20,000. I suggest to any poets who are looking for a place in NYC to spit do not overlook their open mic spot which is usually swole. The theory is that not a lot of poets came out to "Being Artselves" because the mic was not open and sadly most poets only wanna hear themselves. Its all good and its all bad at the same time... I dont know if I would have hopped on the train in all that heat to see some artist I barely know either. But I will say that those who were not there missed the best they never heard!
Oh yeah and Ngoma Hill was ill also. that sound healing really put my son in a cool peaceful state. He enjoyed the energy of his performance.
Aiight yo! here is a snippet of my performance http://youtu.be/JYPUkJ4VHhQ
